Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Disaster preparedness plays a critical role in mitigating the impact of natural disasters and man-made emergencies. Numan Local Government Area (LGA) in Adamawa State, located in a region prone to flooding, communal violence, and other hazards, faces significant challenges in ensuring that its population is adequately prepared for disasters. The increasing reliance on digital media offers new opportunities for enhancing disaster preparedness, as digital platforms can be used to disseminate early warning systems, safety protocols, and disaster relief information. Research by Alhassan et al.
